Time has come to review the priorities and to focus on the future of our planet and the
part that fashion play in that context.
Consumption has turned into an act of responsibility and buyers do not accept any longer
to cause irreversible damages to nature.
Mass market represented by extremely cheap clothing can only generate ethical uncertainty. How can it be possible to produce at such low costs ? It is of the utmost importance to produce in adequate conditions, not only with respect to our environment, but also employee´s working and health conditions.
Why didn’t the fashion industry preoccupy itself earlier about this issue ? Probably
because designers do not want their creations to be confused with excessively basic clothes. This given the fact that fashion is more than ever a powerful vector of representation that must project modernity.
Men´s fashion, as did female fashion earlier, is taking seriously durability and ethics, a preoccupation for environment and human rights. This is the case of the brand Sadi Paul Brancart, an advocate of these causes: not for no reason that it shows a humming bird as a logo. This tiny but splendid animal is the symbol of Colombia and of it’s amazing and still untouched nature.
Know how, product quality and materials have turned into communication tools of the fashion industry and must represent values that have taken their distance from “fast fashion”.
How could surprisingly cheap apparel be produced respectful of these values ? The fashion industry has understood that what the street wants has changed, that we live in a new era, and that a long lasting development is a desirable outcome. This is what the brand Sadi Paul Brancart is convinced of.
